S.H.Figuarts Marco Marineford Ver. Review

S.H.Figuarts – Marco (Marineford Ver.)

The box is surprisingly large, and inside you'll find the main figure and accessories for both his normal form and Phoenix form. Like the SHF Ace figure released earlier, Marco is also based on a winning entry from the Zoukeiou (Figure Sculptor) competition, so the sculpting is absolutely top-notch. His facial expressions are detailed and full of character, and the plastic feels pretty good in hand.

Standing next to Luffy, Marco looks impressively tall. His articulation is also better than I expected, and all the interchangeable parts are easy to remove and attach, which makes posing him a breeze.

Transforming him into Phoenix form is easier than I thought, too. The wings have built-in wire that can be bent directly, making them very convenient to pose. Even the individual toes on his talons are articulated, which is a great touch. Once transformed, the Phoenix form looks absolutely stunning!

Overall, S.H.Figuarts Marco Marineford Ver. turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The only thing to watch out for is the Phoenix tail, which feels a little fragile, so handle it with care.
